Welcome Home
The PULS Housing Initiative is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in July 2025.
Its' mission is to develop and to facilitate affordable housing in Pottawatomie County for our neighbors with special financial need.
PULS Housing Initiative is newly established 501c3 non-profit housing organization conducting its first major workforce housing project. Based in Shawnee, OK with plans to serve all of Pottawatomie County, PULS has a mission to provide housing stability to some of the most vulnerable populations which often means the “missing middle” who earn too much to receive public assistance but too little to rise out of their situation alone. PULS seeks to “open doors for those who persistently knock” and to “give a hand up to those who wish to climb.”
With your support, the Residence Hall Workforce Project will open in August and provide furnished housing with private rooms and shared common facilities for up to 64 young persons attempting to enter the workforce who would be otherwise without support. Unsupported young persons are at high risk of homelessness with 50% ending up homeless or incarcerated within 5 years. The PULS Housing Residence Hall Project will provide a space for the Caring Collective and area vocational technology students to provide these young persons with cost effective housing stability, workforce training, and job placement. Not only will this project reduce homelessness and incarceration by an estimated 32 persons per year, but it will transform those same persons as well as the other participants into trained and skilled workers with an estimated 64 persons entering the workforce annually with greater purchasing power and reduced debt.
